ELECTRICITY COSTS: A Local Utility Might Charge Less
In a recent news article Kitsap Public Utility District indicated
little or no interest in a local electrical PUD being created for
this area. I wonder if the correct questions were directed to those
surveyed?
I compared my December Puget Sound Energy electrical bill with
what it would have been with local public electrical providers;
I used standard residential rates. My PSE bill was $190.94; Seattle
City Light would have been $151.68; Tacoma Power would have been
$131.92; Mason County PUD would have been $130.62. All the above
include their base meter fees.
I wonder what the response to the Kitsap survey would have been
if they asked if the people would like a 21 percent to 32 percent
reduction in their electric bills?
